Shiraz, known as Syrah in France, is a black grape variety, originally from the Rhone Valley, which makes some of the finest red wines in the world. If something goes with a ‘whiz’ and a ‘bang’, it is exciting, entertaining and inspiring! This ‘Whiz Bang’ Shiraz certainly does not disappoint. A deep purple colour, the wine has the textbook dried black cherry and prune fruit of the Barossa Valley with some subtle oak notes of vanilla, clove and cinnamon. On the palate, it is full-bodied with a generous mouth-feel, combining ripe, dried black fruits with vanilla spice, high but integrated alcohol, gentle acidity and ripe rounded tannins. It is also reassuringly long in the mouth!
