This wine is made from 100% Verdicchio grapes. Verdicchio is a white Italian wine grape variety grown primarily in the Marche region of central Italy, bordering the Adriatic Sea.
Villa Bianchi is produced with grapes which come from two vineyards in Moie, in the heart of the Verdicchio di Jesi Classico area. The wine gets its name from “Villa Bianchi”, the home where the owner’s family used to vinify the grapes from their vineyards.
Verdicchio means “little green one”, a name which holds true for the wines it makes. These are typically straw colored with pronounced green tinges and have a correspondingly “green” aroma profile, leaning towards herbaceous notes and fresh apples.
In the glass you will see the trademark yellow hay colour with brilliant green reflections that are found in fine Verdicchio wines. The bouquet is delicate and elegant with both fruity and wild flower fragrances. The texture is dry, savoury with a typical light bitter almond aftertaste.
