This wine has an attractive medium ruby appearance with lovely varietal notes of strawberry, red cherry and red plum with a hint of violet and a touch of new oak complexity (clove, toast). A medium-bodied Pinot, this wine has a very decent structure with bright acidity and smooth moderate tannins. Very well-made, enjoy!

Greystone draws its name from the unique limestone mix of fossils, sea shells and small pebbles that have been fused together through the seismic movement of North Canterbury on New Zealand’s South Island.

In 2000, the Thomas Family purchased a farm on the Omihi hills and began work to create the Greystone vineyard. By 2004, with the help of viticulturist Nick Gill, they’d planted thirteen blocks across the Omihi slopes.

In 2008, the first wine was produced and, over the years, Greystone has grown amid accolades and acclaim to be recognised as one of New Zealand’s best wineries. In 2016, they were named Vineyard of the Year in the New Zealand Organic Wine Awards.
